Beauty Redefined

When my daughter was diagnosed with vitiligo, a condition causing loss of pigment in certain skin areas and resulting in whitish patches, my instinct was to assure her of her undeniable beauty. I wanted her to understand that true beauty transcends societal standards of physical appearance, weight, or size. It emanates from the heart through acts of compassion and kindness.

As a Puerto Rican woman hailing from the South Bronx, I recognized the need to challenge the narrow-minded belief that beauty is confined to a specific dress size, particularly the stereotypical sizes 2 or 4. I felt an obligation to reassure not only my daughter but also countless others facing similar challenges. Deep within me, a fervent conviction emerged, urging me to believe in my potential as a successful businesswoman, irrespective of age, size, or background.

In the face of skeptics who insisted that success in the fashion industry was reserved for those adhering to conventional norms, I was determined to prove them wrong. I envisioned creating a Fashion House that defied expectations, thriving in a borough where many failed to recognize the beauty and creativity blossoming from its concrete streets.

The concept of beauty, I realized, should never be confined by the size of one's hips, age, or skin color. The only authentic definition of beauty is the one that originates from within. It's a force that radiates through our actions, shaping a profound and lasting impression on the world around us. My journey, fueled by the love for my daughter and the desire to challenge societal norms, has taught me that true beauty is a powerful force, breaking through stereotypes and embracing the uniqueness within each of us.
